I am a guitarist and music educator based in Helsinki, Finland. Proficient in most styles of popular music, I perform, record and teach everything ranging from jazz, blues and funk to pop and rock. I also compose and arrange original instrumental music for my own group.
Born and raised in Finland, I received my formal music training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where I studied performance and composition with, among others, Jack Pezanelli, Jon Damian, Rick Peckham and Ayn Inserto. Additionally, I have played and studied with artists such as Alain Mallet, Lin Biviano, Marcello Pellitteri, Mika Pohjola, Bob Pilkington and Jake Hertzog.
I have worked as a sideman- and bandleader on festival stages, in theater productions and studio recording sessions, playing with everything ranging from big bands to small ensembles. Awards and accolades include an academic scholarship awarded to me by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
